The Story of Grass-fields

Our Journey, our passion

Made in Africa. Built to Empower

Redefining African Fashion

Grass-fields is a global fashion brand with a
purpose: to redefine what African fashion means on the world stage.

Founded in 2013, our mission is to empower
communities by creating elegant, African-made clothing that fuses cultural
heritage with contemporary design all while working toward a bold, measurable
goal: to employ 1 million Africans by 2050.

Our Belief

Africa is not the past, it's the future.

And we’re here to build that future with bold
fabrics, jobs, and fearless fashion.

What We Offer:

Luxury fashion inspired by Africa
designed in-house

More than 80% of our products made
in Africa, by skilled artisans in Cameroon and Nigeria

Drop-based collections focused on
limited quantities.

A supply chain rooted in ethics,
community, and cultural pride.

Why It Matters:

Unlike most fast fashion brands,
we don't just “source” from Africa we invest in it.

Every piece you buy helps pay a
living wage, teach a skill, and build a future. This isn’t just fashion, it's
economic transformation stitched into every seam.

Our Mission:

To create the largest African
fashion brand in the world.

To generate 1 million African jobs
by 2050.

To connect the diaspora and global
community to fashion with meaning

I’m dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, side-hustlers and founders-to-be build their dream businesses. Over the past 14 years, I’ve built big companies and failed hard on the grand public stage. When I was 22, I started a little eBay store selling vintage out of the back of an ‘87 Volvo and named it Nasty Gal. Over the years, I scaled the business to $100,000,000 in revenue and wrote a New York Times Bestselling book about the whole thing and named it #GIRLBOSS. So they put me on the cover of Forbes and made a Netflix series based on my life. Needless to say, it’s been a pretty wild ride. Through my businesses, books, and podcasts I’ve mentored thousands of people like you on how to dream up and build profitable businesses they’re proud of. I’ve navigated the tricky waters of building both bootstrapped and investor-backed companies and after 14 years of it, I’m ready to harvest everything I know. Please, take it!
